The Summary View

Each property defined in WegoWise contributes to a utility usage database. The "Summary View" page is the most basic way to access this pool of performance metrics, providing users with automated comparisons aimed to help answer the age old question: How are my buildings doing?

What is a "Median Building"?

For energy benchmarks (electricity, natural gas,and fuel oil), "Similar Buildings" are properties located in the same climate zone with the same building type (low-rise, mid-rise, etc) and heating and hot water fuel. The benchmarks are also normalized in usage/square foot.

For water benchmarks, "Similar Buildings" are properties located in the same climate zone and the same building type. Benchmarks are normalized by gallons/bedroom.

What is an "Efficient Building"?

"Efficient Buildings" are the top 25% of performers within a "Similar Building" grouping.

Why are some cards blank?

There are three possible reasons:

(1) Not all of your meters have been defined. This means that you’ve signified your building to have a certain number of utility meters but at least one of those hasn’t been set up yet in our system. Click here for information on “Adding Accounts and Importing Data

(2) At least one of your meters is missing data. WegoWise requires at least 20 days of data in a given calendar month to calculate a benchmark.

(3) There are not enough buildings in our database that have similar characteristics to your building. We generate accurate and robust benchmarks by comparing your building to a group of similar buildings. We don’t cut corners! If there aren’t enough buildings in your “cohort”, you may be missing a benchmark.

Why don't I see comparisons for the most recent month?

Many utility bills arrive mid-month. Due to this pacing, it's often necessary to wait until the next bill arrives to populate full usage information for the previous month. For example, a utility bill arriving mid-June contains two weeks of usage information from May and two weeks of usage information for June. Use the month or year buttons to click back to the most recent month with full data.
